Woden, the next big thing
An area known by most for its skyline of office buildings and home to the Canberra Hospital; the Woden Town Centre is beginning to buzz with newfound life.
Investment in both infrastructure and the rise of new developments offers the opportunity for Woden to be considered a destination for a more convenient and exciting lifestyle. The centralised location to shopping, transport, recreation, and dining combined with unique viewpoints found nowhere else in Canberra bring real estate in Woden into a league of its own for property hunters.
From the vibrant Bradley Street dining precinct to contemporary art installations throughout the streets and landscaped gardens to relax in. Though it has been the emergence of modern developments like Woden Green and W2 that is seeing the biggest shift for Woden Valley dwellers. The opportunity to live in and among the action that is unfolding in the Town Centre has brought many looking to buy into the established buzz of the Inner North or South drawn over to the next big thing – Woden.
Nicholas Jacob, an off-plan expert in Woden, has seen this shift of strong buyer activity coming across. He says the transformation of Woden has been key to its growing success.
“We have seen the greater increase in property development and spending in the area, which is a self-fulfilling cycle, and this has brought more interest in buyers seeing Woden as a true competitor to the other major town centres in Canberra.”
Following the success of both stages of The Oaks apartments, which have successfully sold out, Nick says the demand for properties in our two latest releases, Woden Green and W2 has followed suit with continued strong sales.
“Buyers are showing a solid appetite in the market, where both developments have seen strong sales performance over the last two years, with a boost toward the end of 2021,” Nick says.
Taking advantage of what Woden now has to offer, Nick says buyers are looking for a more convenient lifestyle without needing to be in the City Centre. This is found at both W2 and Woden Green, both a short walk to the Westfield shopping centre, public transport, medical centres, the soon to be renewed CIT campus.
Now for the prospective buyer, it goes without saying these lifestyle perks will be warmly welcomed, but as Nick points out, the unique feature of vantage points these apartments offer is an unexpected bonus.
“High-rise living and view lines give buyers a combination of underrated yet iconic Canberra views - completely unique to any other location,” he says.
“You can look out toward Red Hill or Mount Taylor, to the Brindabellas and over the rolling green hills stretching across the valley, it’s beautiful, it’s stunning.”
The elegant design of both of these off-plan opportunities give residents’ high-quality living and generous amenities perched amongst all the action. It’s a new beginning for some, but for Woden… it’s the next big thing.
