Our work in the community

We’ve been in Canberra for a while now. Almost 60 years. Like you, we care deeply about our city and make it a priority to be involved with local community and charity organisations. It’s our way of giving a little back to the city that has given us so much.

So, in 2007, we set up our foundation to assist vulnerable people in the community.

Over ten years later Independent has distributed over a million dollars to the local community.

To say we are excited about the work we do through our foundation is an understatement. Supporting the community is integral to the way we do business, which is why a portion of all fees from residential sales made by Independent are donated to our foundation.

In addition, our people drive our charitable giving. Staff-led initiatives have included everything from the CEO Sleep Out to RSPCA cake sales to donating furniture to a client who lost everything in a house fire. The causes we support are close to the hearts of our team.
