After a long and highly successful career in accountancy, Geoff Thomas began his real estate career with Parkland Estates in 1972 selling land in Brisbane. This led to selling house and land packages for builders, as well as established properties and a promotion to the position of Sales Manager.
Geoff moved to Canberra in 1975 to become part of a growing real estate agency that later became Independent. He first became a Sales Manager and later a shareholder.
In 1983, he was promoted to Branch Manager, firstly in Woden, then at the Civic office. In 1993 he decided to take less of a 'hands-on' role in the day-to-day running of the office and stepped aside to adopt a role that gives him more flexibility in terms of 'time off' to pursue other interests. He still lists properties for sale and works on personal sales.
Geoff has been involved with Independent since their inception so he has a wealth of invaluable knowledge in the real estate industry. He became a registered real estate agent in 1978.
Geoff is a gifted trainer and has run many sales and management training seminars over the years. His accountancy skills find him working closely with first homebuyers (where he assists with finance), investors and builders.
Geoff owns a number of investment properties and he has advised hundreds of Canberra investors over the years, his experience sets him apart amongst property professionals.
